Our Story

The Promise

Lainee’s Love began in a season that made no sense — a time of grief, unanswered questions, and a promise made in the middle of heartbreak.

When my wife, Elaine (“Lainee”), was facing the end of her life, I promised her I would find the purpose in what we were walking through. At the time, I couldn’t understand how verses like Romans 8:28 — that all things work together for good — could possibly be true.

The Purpose

Later, I realized I didn’t need to search far for that purpose. All I had to do was look at her life.

Lainee had a rare gift for encouragement, but over time I’ve come to see that encouragement was just one expression of something deeper — her kindness. It was woven into who she was, how she loved, and how she showed up for others every single day.

Created in her memory, Lainee’s Love carries forward her heart for people, her compassion, and her belief that even the smallest acts of kindness can change a life.

This is my way of introducing you to my beautiful wife.

The Principles

Relationships Over Transactions

People come first. We value people as individuals, not primarily as customers, volunteers, donors, or resources. Relationships will always matter more than transactions.

Kindness Without Expectation

Kindness is given freely. We don’t require recognition, reciprocity, or measurable results. Our responsibility is to faithfully love and serve others; the results belong to God.

Faith Driven Generosity

Generosity is part of who we are. We will preserve opportunities for faith-driven generosity, even when they do not maximize financial return.
